chris janson owned the stage!
1) As far as best performance goes, I'd rank the artists in this order: 1) Brand New 2) Chris Janson 3) Chase Bryant 4) Rascal Flatts.
2) I came to see Brand New, and granted he was good, but something seemed off compared to past performances I've seen him at. His voice seemed squeaky for the night, and I was somewhat disappointed in his set list.
3) I love Tim, don't get me wrong, but I've seen him 3 times, and the other three times were better. Chase Bryant brought energy to the show and was enjoyable.
4) Rascal Flatts, on the other hand, I just did not enjoy. They have some great songs, but I got what I expected. I never thought they could reproduce live what they achieve in the studio. The highlight was them singing "Broken Road," but outside of that, I would have preferred more of the other artists.
5) I saw Chris Janson as a one-hit wonder prior to the show, to be honest. Catchy tune but no substance. Boy, was I wrong! This guy can rock and bring REAL COUNTRY to the forefront of the stage.
6) Chris Janson was the biggest surprise of the night and a welcome treat. I felt he brought his story to the stage and what real country music is about - the story, life, being in the ditches, and digging yourself out.
7) Being proud of where you came from but not wallowing in it. I wish him well and will follow his career. He's headed up, mark my words. I've been around country music too long, and Chris is gonna do just fine.
8) Congrats to Kicks on another country fair. I had a great time. Would definitely go see Chris Janson again.
